Central Mount Stuart Historical Reserve
Central Mount Stuart Historical Reserve is a small protected reserve in the Central Desert Region of the Northern Territory, about 150 km north of Alice Springs on the Stuart Highway. It preserves Central Mount Stuart, named by explorer John McDouall Stuart on 22 April 1860 and long regarded as the geographical centre of Australia. The reserve is notable for its historic cairn, commemorative plaque and centre-of-Australia monument.
