Salamanca Place
Salamanca Place is a historic waterfront precinct in central Hobart, Tasmania, fronting Sullivan's Cove. Developed in the 1830s-1840s as a row of Georgian sandstone warehouses for the whaling and shipping trade, it is named after the 1812 Battle of Salamanca. Today the four-block terrace houses galleries, cafes, restaurants and bars, and hosts the weekly Salamanca Market, making it a central cultural and tourism hub near Battery Point.
