Parangtritis Beach

Parangtritis Beach is a well-known black-sand beach on the southern coast of Java in Parangtritis village, Kretek, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Located about 27 kilometers south of Yogyakarta city, it faces the Indian Ocean and is noted for its wide sandy shoreline, coastal dunes, and strong waves. The beach is culturally associated with Javanese legends and is a popular destination for sightseeing, sunset viewing, and coastal recreation.
