Phra That Phanom
Phra That Phanom is a highly revered Buddhist temple complex in That Phanom District, Nakhon Phanom Province, northeastern Thailand, on the west bank of the Mekong River. Centered on a 53-meter Lao-style chedi believed to enshrine relics of the Buddha, it is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in Isan and Laos. The white and gold stupa, rebuilt after its 1975 collapse, features intricate ornamentation and surrounding cloisters with murals and Buddha images.
