Bhatwari
Bhatwari is a small Himalayan town and tehsil headquarters in Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand, situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River along the National Highway 34 route to Gangotri. Located about 35 km from Uttarkashi at an altitude of around 1,550 metres, it serves as an administrative centre and transit stop for pilgrims and travellers heading to Gangotri, Harsil and Gangnani, surrounded by forested slopes and river valley scenery.
