Solani Aqueduct
The Solani Aqueduct is a historic British-era engineering structure built in 1846 over the Solani River in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. It was constructed as part of the Upper Ganga Canal project to carry canal water across the river. Considered India's first aqueduct and a civil engineering marvel, it features 15 arches and spans approximately 980 feet. The structure represents an important milestone in irrigation infrastructure development during colonial rule.
