Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Barrage
The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Barrage, also known as Medigadda or Lakshmi Barrage, is a concrete barrage spanning the Godavari River in Telangana. Constructed as part of the world's largest multi-stage lift irrigation project, it features 85 gates and serves as the starting point for lifting water to irrigate drought-prone areas across 13 districts. Inaugurated in June 2019, this engineering marvel represents modern water management infrastructure.
