Thyagaraja Samadhi

Thyagaraja Samadhi is the memorial of saint-composer Thyagaraja (1767-1847) located on the banks of the Cauvery River at Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu. The site marks where the revered Carnatic music composer attained samadhi in 1847. It features a small shrine and mandapam maintained as a place of homage for musicians and devotees. The samadhi is nationally renowned as the venue of the annual Thyagaraja Aradhana music festival held every January.
