Vedaranyeswarar Temple
Vedaranyeswarar Temple is a major Hindu Shiva temple located in Vedaranyam, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu, on the Coromandel Coast. Dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vedaranyeswarar and Goddess Thiripurasundari, it is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams revered in Tamil Saivite tradition. Notable for its large complex, seven-tiered gopurams, and association with the four Vedas, the temple reflects Chola and later Nayak architecture and remains an active pilgrimage centre.
