Vandiyur Lake
Vandiyur Lake, also known as Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam, is a large artificial temple tank in the Vandiyur locality southeast of Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Constructed in 1645 by Thirumalai Nayak, it covers about 16 acres and is among the largest temple tanks in India. It features a central island mandapa with a Vinayaka temple, stone steps on all sides, and is linked to the Meenakshi Temple for its annual float festival.
