Rajiv Gandhi Memorial
Rajiv Gandhi Memorial is a national memorial located at Sriperumbudur in Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu, about 40 km southwest of Chennai on NH 48. It marks the site where former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on 21 May 1991. Built by the Government of Tamil Nadu and inaugurated in 2003, the memorial features landscaped gardens, seven pillars, stone pathways and an exhibition area commemorating the event.
