Palani Winch Railway
Palani Winch Railway is an inclined funicular railway at Palani in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu, serving the Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple atop Palani Hills. Operated by the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, it provides an alternative to 697 stone steps. Notable for its steep incline, twin tracks and scenic ascent, it is a key pilgrim transport facility for one of the Six Abodes of Lord Murugan.
