Thiruvottiyur Thyagarajaswamy Temple
Thiruvottiyur Thyagarajaswamy Temple is a historic Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva as Thyagaraja, located in Thiruvottiyur in North Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Revered as one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams praised in the Tevaram hymns, it exhibits Dravidian architecture with a towering gopuram, shrines for Vadivudai Amman and other deities, and stone inscriptions from Pallava, Chola and Vijayanagara periods. It is notable for its antiquity, architectural heritage and importance in Tamil Saivite tradition.
