Gadisar Lake

Gadisar Lake is a historic artificial reservoir in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, constructed in the 14th century by Maharawal Gharsi Singh to provide drinking water to the city. Located approximately 1.5 kilometers from Jaisalmer Fort, this rainwater lake is surrounded by ornate sandstone temples, chhatris, and ghats. Today it serves as a peaceful tourist destination offering boating opportunities and scenic views of golden architecture against desert landscapes.
