Golden Triangle
The Golden Triangle is a famous viewpoint at Sop Ruak in Wiang, Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province, northern Thailand. It marks the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. Once known for opium cultivation, it is now a major tourist landmark featuring a riverside viewpoint, a large golden Buddha statue, museums and boat trips overlooking the three-country border landscape.
