Chunnambar Backwaters
Chunnambar Backwaters is an estuarine backwater system at Nonankuppam, about 8 km south of Puducherry town, where the Chunnambar River meets the Bay of Bengal. Managed around the Chunnambar Boat House operated by Puducherry Tourism, it is notable for its calm brackish waters, mangrove fringes and as the gateway for boat rides to Paradise Beach island. The site is a popular eco-tourism and leisure boating destination.
