Chilika Lake, Barkul Visitor Area
Chilika Lake at Barkul is a principal visitor gateway to Chilika, Asia's largest brackish water lagoon, on the eastern shore in Khordha district, Odisha. The Barkul area hosts the OTDC Panthanivas, boat jetty and panoramic lake views. Notable for its vast brackish waterscape, winter migratory birds, and islands such as Kalijai and Nalabana, it serves as a key access point for boating, birdwatching and island visits within the Chilika lagoon ecosystem.
