Mawlynnong Village

Mawlynnong Village is a small Khasi village in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, about 90 km from Shillong near the India-Bangladesh border. Often cited as Asia's cleanest village, it is known for its well-maintained bamboo houses, flower-lined pathways, community-based cleanliness practices, 100% literacy and matrilineal Khasi culture.
