Tulja Caves
Tulja Caves, also known as Tulja Lena, are a group of ancient rock-cut Buddhist caves located on Tuljabai Hill about 4 to 5 km west of Junnar in Pune district, Maharashtra. Excavated around 50 B.C., they are among the earliest cave complexes in the region and consist of approximately 11 to 14 chambers. The site features a unique circular Chaitya hall with twelve octagonal pillars surrounding a central stupa, reflecting early Hinayana Buddhist architecture.
