Asthamba Shrine
Asthamba Shrine is a sacred peak and religious site located in the Satpura mountain range within Akrani Tehsil (Dhadgaon) of Nandurbar district, Maharashtra. It is deeply revered by tribal communities from Maharashtra and Gujarat who associate it with Ashwatthama, the immortal warrior from the Mahabharata. The site is most notable for its annual 10-15 day fair held during Diwali, which serves as a major cultural and spiritual gathering preserving ancient tribal traditions, music, and rituals in a remote hilly setting.
