Kundi Bhandara
Kundi Bhandara is a 17th-century underground aqueduct system located about 3 km from Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh. Built in 1615 during the Mughal period by governor Abdur Rahim Khan-i-Khanan, it uses the Persian qanat technique to channel groundwater through an underground tunnel with 103 vertical shafts (kundis). Extending about 3.9 km, the system historically supplied water to Burhanpur city and remains an important example of medieval water engineering and heritage architecture.
