Papanasini River
Papanasini is a sacred mountain stream originating from the Brahmagiri Hills near Thirunelli in Wayanad, Kerala. The name Papanasini translates to 'destroyer of sins', and it is believed that bathing in its waters washes away all worldly sins. Located approximately one kilometer from the ancient Thirunelli Maha Vishnu Temple, the stream flows through dense forests and medicinal herbs before joining the Kabini River. It serves as a significant site for performing ancestral rites and immersing cremated ashes.
