Fort Cuyo
Fort Cuyo is a 17th-century Spanish colonial fort located in the town of Cuyo on Cuyo Island in Palawan, Philippines. Built in 1683 by Augustinian Recollect friars, it is the oldest and only intact Spanish fort in Palawan. Constructed of coral stone blocks with thick walls and bastions, the complex encloses St. Augustine Church, a convent and chapel. It was built to protect the settlement from Moro pirate raids.
