Marikamba Temple

Marikamba Temple is a prominent Hindu temple located in the centre of Sirsi town in Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka. Dedicated to Goddess Marikamba, a form of Durga and regarded as the gramadevi of Sirsi, it is known for its large central idol, distinctive Kaavi art murals and wood carvings on the facade. Built in 1688, the temple is a major religious and cultural landmark and hosts the biennial Sirsi Marikamba Jatre fair attracting large numbers of devotees.
