Sangama at Kanakapura

Sangama at Kanakapura is the confluence of the Arkavathi and Cauvery rivers located about 3-4 km from Kanakapura town in Ramanagara district, Karnataka, about 90 km south of Bengaluru. The wide, shallow sandy riverbed surrounded by forested hills is a popular day-trip picnic and pilgrimage spot. It is notable as the upstream point of the narrow Mekedatu gorge and for seasonal coracle rides offered when water levels are calm.
