Losar Village
Losar Village is a remote high-altitude settlement located on the right bank of the Spiti River in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at approximately 4,085 meters above sea level near the confluence of the Losar and Peeno streams, it serves as the first major village in Spiti Valley when approaching from Manali via Kunzum Pass. The village is notable for its traditional mud-brick architecture, ancient Buddhist gompa, and role as a critical acclimatization stop for travelers entering the cold desert region.
