Hikkim Village
Hikkim Village is a high-altitude settlement in Lahaul and Spiti district, Himachal Pradesh, situated at approximately 4,440 meters above sea level. It is globally recognized for housing one of the world's highest permanently functioning post offices, established in 1983. The village is one of India's highest year-round inhabited locations, with a predominantly Buddhist population following Tibetan traditions. Its remote location, traditional mud-and-stone architecture, and geological significance due to marine fossils define its unique character.
