Bhirrana Archaeological Site
Bhirrana Archaeological Site is a protected Harappan mound located in Bhirrana village, Fatehabad district, Haryana, on the paleo-channel of the Saraswati River. Excavated by the Archaeological Survey of India, it is regarded as one of the earliest sites of the Indus Valley Civilization, with cultural deposits ranging from pre-Harappan Hakra Ware to mature Harappan phases. The low mound reveals early village settlement evidence and is significant for understanding the origins of urbanization in South Asia.
