History of Webb Bridge
The bridge incorporates a section of the former Webb Dock Rail Bridge, part of the Webb Dock railway line built in the 1980s to serve Webb Dock. After the rail line closed in the 1990s during Docklands redevelopment, the remaining bridge structure was retained and converted. The new Webb Bridge opened in 2003 as part of the Docklands urban renewal project, preserving industrial heritage while creating a new pedestrian link.
