History of Waratah Falls
Waratah Falls is situated beside the historic town of Waratah, which developed after the discovery of tin at Mount Bischoff in 1871, one of Australia's earliest major tin mines. The Waratah River and falls were part of the landscape supporting early mining operations and town water supply, reflecting the industrial and settlement history of north-west Tasmania during the late 19th century mining boom.
