About Waddamana Power Station Heritage Site
The Waddamana Power Station Heritage Site is a preserved hydro-electric power station in Waddamana in Tasmania's Central Highlands. Built between 1910 and 1916 as Waddamana A, with Waddamana B added from 1939 to 1949, it was Tasmania's first major hydro power station. Now operated as a museum by Hydro Tasmania, it displays original machinery, control room and exhibits illustrating the state's hydro-industrial history.
