Vietnam Military History Museum

The Vietnam Military History Museum is a national museum located at Km 6+500 Thang Long Boulevard in Tay Mo, Nam Tu Liem, Ha Noi. Opened at its new modern site on November 1, 2024, it replaces the former museum at 28A Dien Bien Phu. The museum preserves and displays over 150,000 artifacts documenting Vietnam's military history, with extensive indoor galleries and a large outdoor exhibition of aircraft, tanks and artillery.

Visitors can expect a large modern museum complex with a distinctive Victory Tower at the entrance, four indoor floors organized chronologically and thematically, and a vast outdoor plaza displaying military aircraft, tanks, artillery and other large equipment. Indoor galleries feature artifacts, documents, photographs, dioramas and multimedia presentations. The site is spacious and requires considerable walking between indoor and outdoor areas, with wide pathways, seating areas and visitor services.

Established on July 17, 1956, as the Army Museum, the Vietnam Military History Museum is one of Vietnam's national museums. It preserves and presents artifacts and documents related to the formation and development of the Vietnam People's Army. The new facility in Nam Tu Liem, inaugurated on November 1, 2024, was built to modern standards to house and display its extensive collection.

The museum serves as a cultural and educational institution presenting Vietnam's military heritage through artifacts, exhibitions and memorial displays. It is a venue for public education, commemoration and research related to national history and is a notable visitor attraction in Hanoi.
