History of Varaha Ghat
Varaha Ghat is named after Lord Varaha, the boar incarnation of Vishnu. The adjacent Varaha Temple was originally constructed in the 12th century (1123-1150 AD) by King Anaji Chauhan, grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan. The temple was destroyed during Muslim conquests and later rebuilt by Maharaja Bakht Singh of Marwar. Most of the ghats in Pushkar date from the 18th century and later, as many were rebuilt after destruction during historical conflicts.
