About Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk
The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk is an elevated canopy walkway in Walpole-Nornalup National Park near Tingledale, Shire of Denmark, Western Australia. Opened in 1996, it traverses a forest of giant red tingle trees (Eucalyptus jacksonii) endemic to the Walpole Wilderness. The 600-metre lightweight steel walkway rises up to 40 metres above the forest floor, offering accessible views of the ancient forest canopy and the adjacent Ancient Empire ground-level boardwalk.
Visitors guide
Visitors can walk a 600-metre elevated steel truss walkway that gently rises to 40 metres high through the canopy of red tingle, yellow tingle and karri forest. The walk provides panoramic views of the forest canopy and Walpole Wilderness. At ground level, the Ancient Empire Walk is a 500-metre boardwalk meandering among massive veteran tingle trees with hollowed trunks. The site includes a visitor centre with interpretive displays, gift shop and cafe, with both walks suitable for most fitness levels.
