History of Unley Museum
Housed in the former Unley Fire Station constructed in 1899, the museum was established by the City of Unley in 1971 to collect and preserve the history of the district. The building itself reflects late 19th-century civic infrastructure and has served as a fire station and later community facility. The collection documents the development of Unley from early colonial subdivision in the 1840s through suburban growth in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The museum preserves and interprets the cultural heritage of the City of Unley, including Kaurna Country and the social history of its diverse community. It serves as a community resource for education, local identity, and historical research, hosting exhibitions and programs that reflect local cultural development.
