About Ungab Rock Formation
Ungab Rock Formation is a natural limestone sea arch located on the northern coast of Mongpong Island in Barangay Mongpong, Santa Cruz, Marinduque. The formation features a large arch opening carved by wave erosion, standing in clear turquoise waters of the Sibuyan Sea. It is one of the most photographed landmarks in Marinduque and is typically visited as part of island-hopping tours from Santa Cruz that also include Maniwaya Island and Palad Sandbar.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a coastal limestone arch rising from shallow clear water off Mongpong Island, accessible only by boat. The site offers open sea views, rocky shoreline and a natural arch suitable for photography from the boat or while wading at low tide. There are no built structures on the rock itself. The surrounding area is undeveloped with natural beach and sea, and visits are usually brief stops during island-hopping tours with time for sightseeing, swimming nearby and taking photos.
