About Uleybury School Museum
Uleybury School Museum is a heritage-listed former school at 33 Uley Road, Uleybury in the City of Playford, about 35 km north of Adelaide. Built in 1856, it is one of South Australia's oldest surviving school buildings. The stone schoolhouse and residence now operate as a small community museum displaying a recreated 19th-century classroom, school memorabilia, photographs and local district history.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a small single-room stone schoolhouse set in a rural setting with a recreated 1850s-1900s classroom, original desks, blackboards, maps and teaching materials. The adjoining former teacher's residence contains displays on local settlement, farming and community history. The site is compact, surrounded by open paddocks and vineyards, and is typically explored on a self-guided or volunteer-guided walk through the two buildings.
