About The Entrance Pelican Feeding
The Entrance Pelican Feeding is a daily wildlife attraction on the waterfront at Memorial Park in The Entrance on the New South Wales Central Coast. Held at 3:30 pm each day, volunteers feed a flock of Australian pelicans while providing an educational talk about the species. Established in the 1990s and managed by volunteers with Central Coast Council support, it draws visitors to the Tuggerah Lake foreshore for close-up viewing and photography.
Visitors guide
Visitors gather on the paved waterfront at Memorial Park around a low feeding platform on Tuggerah Lake. At 3:30 pm volunteers bring fish and pelicans gather on the platform and surrounding water while a volunteer provides commentary on pelican biology, behaviour and conservation. The setting is an open, flat foreshore park with seating, lawns and views across the lake and channel to The Entrance Beach. Visitors can watch, photograph and listen to the talk from behind barriers.
