About Terengganu Drawbridge
The Terengganu Drawbridge is a bascule drawbridge spanning the Terengganu River estuary in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. Opened on 1 August 2019, it is the first drawbridge in Southeast Asia and connects the city centre to Seberang Takir. Inspired by London's Tower Bridge, the 638-metre bridge features four 15-storey towers, a sky bridge and gallery, and is a major modern landmark and waterfront attraction.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a modern 638-metre bascule bridge with four towers linked by a glass sky bridge and viewing gallery over the Terengganu River mouth. The area offers waterfront promenades on both sides, views of the river, South China Sea and city skyline, an exhibition gallery inside the towers, and night illumination with colour-changing lights. Visitors can walk the sky bridge, view the lifting span when operated, and photograph the structure from the waterfront.
