About Teerk Roo Ra National Park
Teerk Roo Ra National Park covers Peel Island in central Moreton Bay, about 4 km north of Cleveland in the City of Redland, Queensland. The 519-hectare island park protects open eucalypt woodland, mangroves, sandflats, seagrass beds and fringing coral reef. Formerly called Peel Island, it is notable for its heritage-listed former lazaret complex and Quandamooka cultural heritage, and is managed for conservation and low-impact day use.
