About Tanjung Rhu Beach
Tanjung Rhu Beach is a public beach at the northern tip of Langkawi Island in Kedah, Malaysia, within Mukim Ayer Hangat. It is known for its long stretch of fine white sand, shallow clear waters, and views of limestone islets and mangrove estuaries bordering the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park. The beach is relatively secluded compared to central Langkawi beaches and is flanked by casuarina trees and luxury resorts.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a wide, sandy shoreline with calm, shallow water at low tide, scattered casuarina trees, and views of limestone islets offshore. The beach is bordered by a mangrove river estuary to the south and resort properties to the north. Areas are open for walking, sunbathing, photography and wading. Boat tours and kayaks for the nearby mangroves depart from the Tanjung Rhu jetty. Facilities are limited compared to town beaches, creating a quiet, natural setting.
