Tanjung Lesung Beach

Tanjung Lesung Beach is a 15-kilometer white-sand coastal resort in Panimbang, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, on the western tip of Java facing the Sunda Strait. Designated as a Special Economic Zone for tourism, it is known for calm waters, views of Mount Krakatau, and proximity to Ujung Kulon National Park. The beach offers resort accommodations, water sports, and island excursions, serving as a gateway for leisure and nature-based tourism in Banten.

Visitors can expect a long stretch of white sand beach with calm, shallow waters facing the Sunda Strait and views toward Krakatau. The area is developed as an integrated resort with hotels, villas, and beach clubs, interspersed with fishing villages and mangrove areas. Visitors can explore the main beachfront, swimming areas, jetties for boat trips to Liwungan Island, and open spaces for sunset viewing. The environment is tropical coastal with resort facilities and natural shoreline.

Tanjung Lesung was designated as a Special Economic Zone (KEK Tanjung Lesung) for tourism by the Indonesian government in 2015 to develop western Java's coastal tourism. The area was significantly affected by the December 2018 Sunda Strait tsunami, after which infrastructure and early warning facilities were rebuilt and improved.

The beach is located in a coastal area inhabited by Sundanese and Bantenese fishing communities. It reflects local coastal livelihoods and is developed to showcase Banten's beach culture, seafood cuisine, and traditional fishing activities alongside modern resort tourism.
