History of Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall
The villa was originally built in the early 1900s and known as Wan Qing Yuan. It was acquired by supporters of Sun Yat Sen and served as the headquarters of the Tong Meng Hui in Nanyang between 1906 and 1911, where plans supporting the 1911 Revolution were coordinated. The building was later restored and opened as a memorial hall in 2001 and gazetted as a National Monument on 28 October 1994.
Culture & Context
