About Snug Falls
Snug Falls is a 25-metre tiered waterfall located in the Snug Tiers Nature Recreation Area near the township of Snug, about 30 km south of Hobart in the Kingborough local government area, Tasmania. Accessed via a short bushwalking track through wet eucalypt forest, the falls cascade over dolerite cliffs into a small pool. It is notable as an easily accessible day-walk destination managed by Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a 2 km return bushwalk through tall eucalypt and rainforest to a viewing area at the base of a 25-metre waterfall. The track descends through forest with tree roots, steps and uneven surfaces to a rocky amphitheatre where the falls drop over a cliff face into a shallow pool. There are no built structures at the falls itself beyond track markers and signage; the setting is natural and forested with fern gullies and birdlife.
