About Small Falls
Small Falls, locally known as Siru Aruvi, is a popular waterfall in Courtallam (Kutralam) in Tenkasi District, Tamil Nadu, on the Western Ghats. Fed by the Chittar River, it is one of the nine falls in the Courtallam cluster. Known for its gentle cascade and separate bathing enclosures, it attracts visitors seeking a safe bathing experience and water believed to have herbal medicinal properties.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a low-height cascade flowing over rocks into a shallow bathing pool surrounded by forested slopes of the Western Ghats. The falls has separate fenced bathing sections for men and women with changing rooms nearby. The area is developed for tourism with paved approach, steps, railings and food stalls. Water flow is seasonal, strongest during monsoon, and bathing is the main activity in a managed, crowded setting during peak season.
