About Sisters' Islands Marine Park
Sisters' Islands Marine Park is Singapore's first marine park, located in the Southern Islands about 45 minutes by boat from the mainland. Designated in 2014 and managed by the National Parks Board, it encompasses Big Sister Island, Small Sister Island and surrounding reefs and waters including Pulau Tekukor. Notable for its coral reefs, seagrass beds and rich marine biodiversity, it serves as a centre for conservation, research and public education through guided intertidal and dive programmes.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a protected island and reef environment accessible only by boat. Public access is limited to Big Sister Island (Pulau Subar Laut) via guided tours; Small Sister Island is closed for conservation. The island features a lagoon, boardwalks, shelters, and intertidal flats exposed at low tide. Activities are tide-dependent and include guided intertidal walks, snorkeling and dive trails to view corals, seagrasses, giant clams and reef fish. The Sisters' Islands Marine Park Public Gallery on St John's Island provides exhibits on marine biodiversity.
