About Singe La
Singe La is a high mountain pass at approximately 5,050 metres on the Fotoksar approach in Ladakh, India, connecting the Lamayuru region with the Zanskar valley via Fotoksar and Lingshed. Located near Fotoksar village in Leh district, it lies on the historic Lamayuru-Padum trekking route and the newer road link. Notable for its stark Himalayan landscape, prayer flags, and panoramic views of surrounding peaks and valleys, it serves as a key transit point for trekkers and motorists.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a stark, high-altitude Himalayan pass marked by prayer flags and small chortens, with wide panoramic views of barren mountains, valleys and distant snow peaks. The setting is remote and windswept with unpaved road and trekking trail crossing the ridge. There are no shops or permanent structures at the top; visitors typically stop briefly for photography, sightseeing and to acclimatize before continuing towards Fotoksar village on one side and Lingshed/Sirsir La on the other.
