Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a roadside waterfall viewed from a fenced viewpoint along the ghat road. The water cascades about 180 feet over rocky formations surrounded by forested slopes. There is no trek required; the falls are directly accessible from the highway with small roadside shops selling fruits, snacks and souvenirs. The flow is strongest after monsoon and reduced in summer. Bathing is not permitted at the main viewpoint.

History of Silver Cascade Falls
The falls is fed by the overflow of Kodaikanal Lake, an artificial lake created in 1863 by Sir Vere Henry Levinge, then Collector of Madurai, who developed Kodaikanal as a hill station. The cascade has since served as a natural outlet for the lake and a landmark on the historic ghat road to Kodaikanal.
