History of Shringa Rishi Temple
The temple is dedicated to Sage Rishyasringa of Ramayana era lineage, son of Vibhandak Rishi, who performed the Putrakameshti Yagna leading to the birth of Lord Rama and his brothers. Local tradition records his birth from a hind transformed by a curse and his meditation at Sakiran Jot. The current structure was reconstructed in 2008, continuing centuries of devotional association with the valley.

The temple hosts the annual Banjar Fair and participates in Kullu Dussehra celebrations, serving as a central institution for local identity, protection beliefs, and cultural continuity.
