History of Shree Dev Vyadeshwar Temple
The temple is believed to date back approximately 2000 years, with its current structure built between the 1st and 2nd centuries AD during the era of King Sakuran. According to legend, Sage Vyadi installed the Shiva lingam after Sage Parashurama created the Konkan land and requested Lord Shiva to reside there for daily darshan. The deity was rediscovered when a cow named Kapila reportedly poured milk on a rock that bled upon being struck, leading King Sakuran to excavate and build the temple.
